BITE BEAUTY Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library - Swatches and First Impressions!

Heeeellloo my beautiful muffins. Today I have for you another unnecessary purchase. It was so beautiful I really couldn't say no. Currently Sephora is having their 15% VIB sale (I believe the code is extended to all Beauty Insiders as well) and it's going on until Thursday I believe so I thought I should get this up ASAP in case any of you want to take advantage and use the coupon for this set!

These are my first Bite Beauty products so I'm super stoked about them. I didn't know much about the brand, but the girl helping me at Sephora mentioned that it's owned by a Husband and Wife duo who are Canadian (like whatevs no big or anything). All the products are made with "food grade ingredients" which essentially means that these are safe to ingest, incase you were feeling a little peckish. In all seriousness you do ingest a lot of your lip products so it's always nice that they're made with things that are safe to do so. Think back to the days where women would rub beets on their faces to look "flushed". So vintage.

The packaging is super cute. Carboard so I'll probably toss it eventually but it's nice to look at. The set comes with 12 mini-glosses that have 0.05 oz of product. A regular Bite Lipgloss has about .13 oz of product, so essentially you're getting a little bit less than half. Considering the full size retails for $26.00 CAD, and this set comes with 12 minis for $53.00 CAD, I'd say this is a pretty good deal! Especially if you're new to the brand and not sure where to start like I was.
This set is supposed to be themed as "rose coloured glosses" and I'd say that's pretty accurate, most of them have a pinky/rose undertone with a few exceptions. I've numbered them because the glosses themselves don't actually have names and they're just numbered, so you'll know which one I've swatched and what I'm talking about. So let's get right into the swatches **DISCLAIMER: I'm an awkward lip-swatcher and my lips are really fucking weird. We've been over this. So I do apologize but I was ~born this way~

One is described as a "light pink mauve" and that's exactly what it is. Not extremely pigmented but this is the type of colour I like to throw over a nude lipstick and call it a day. Wasn't streaky at all compared to alot of light "milky" pink glosses I own and didn't settle into any lines. I dig it.

Two is supposed to be a "rosy pink". I'd say that's fair. This is another one of those throw in your purse kind of shades cause its easy to just slap it on. Keep in mind with the lighter shades they're not going to be crazy pigmented, and they are glosses not liquid lipsticks so that's reasonable. Noticed a bit of patchiness with this one but nothing crazy.

Three is a "light coral" shade. This is probably the most "clear" of the bunch, but the shade itself is something riiiiight up my street. I love coral/orange glosses over nudes cause the warm is so flattering on my skin. Doesn't look like much on it's own but I'm optimistic that it'll look great over a lipstick.

Four is described as a "raisin" shade. It pulls pretty warm on me for some reason, almost looks coral-ly, kind of like a melon colour if that makes sense. I reaaaaallllllly liked this one. The formula is so smooth and not streaky or patchy at all. Definitely one of my favourites.

Five is a mauve shade. Love this one as well. I'm all about mauve lately. I think I'm growing up and out of those milky pink shades I loved when I was younger. Is this adulthood? Sliiiiight patching with this one, very slight. Overall liked this shade a lot.

Six is a dusty rose shade. Probably the most "rosey" of the bunch. Another smooth application with no streaking. This is pretty close to my natural lip shade as well so it's quite flattering on my skin.

Here's where the colours start to get a bit more vibrant. Seven is described as a "dusty coral". I'm not sure wtf a dusty coral is but this is pretty straight up coral to me. It was a little patchy but I reallllly like the colour, would look great over some of the new orange-y shades I've been trying out for spring.

Eight is a muted cherry, but I'd say it's kinda orange undertoned to be a true cherry, in my opinion. Again, a little patchy but I didn't really layer it on cause I want you to get an accurate idea of how they all look straight from the tube. Not really a colour I see myself wearing alot but it's nice.

Nine is called an "apple red. This colour actually pulls less red on me and a bit more orange which I expected considering its pretty obviously warm toned. Reminds me a bit of Morange in a (sheer) lipgloss formula. Nice smooth formula on this one. How many times am I going to say smooth? How unsmooth of me.

Ten is called a "jewel red".  No idea what this means but I'd call this a "true red". I actually hate glossy red lips so....this isn't my favourite. But I'm sure I'll find a way to use it (when in doubt, throw it over a nude lipstick, thats my motto).

Eleven dark reddy-brown shade. It looks a little lighter in the photo, unfortunately the sun started to set. In real life this pulls quite brown on me. I didn't really care for the shade, to be honest, and found this one the most difficult to apply. Probably my least favourite of the lot.

And finally Twelve is a deep purple shade. Worn sheerly like I did here it looks almost fushcia, kind of like radient orchid shade everyone's been crapping their pants over. A little bit more pink on me than I expected but I really like this and I think it'll look cool with a grey smokey eye or something.

I've done some arm swatches as well so you can see the colour built up a bit more:

Overally I'm really pleased with this set and think it was totally worth it. I haven't done much makeup shopping lately at all (erm, compared to the past) so I thought why not treat yo self hunnie. If you're a beauty insider at Sephora and want to get this I'd say take advantage of the coupon while you can!

That's all for now folks :) I'll be filming later in the week so hopefully I can get that up in a timely fashion (that's what he said). Have a good night everyone!
